Exploring the Power of Science

Class 4 students of NMAJS had an inspiring field trip to the Nehru Science Centre, exploring the transdisciplinary theme "How the World Works." They delved into energy transformations through engaging experiments like Newton's Cradle, which demonstrated kinetic and potential energy, and the Chain Reaction, which highlighted how energy transfers seamlessly from one form to another. They also explored exhibits showcasing the different forms of energy—heat, light, sound, and mechanical energy. Class 4 learners participated in interactive activities to understand the concepts of electricity, voltage, and circuits. This hands-on experience enriched their understanding of how energy powers our world and inspired a deeper love for science!

Class II Trip ‘Wellness Wonders’

Our Class II learners embarked on an exciting field trip to The Club as part of their Unit of Inquiry on ‘Health and Well-being’ under the 'Who We Are' theme. The experience was a unique blend of physical activity, mindfulness, and education on a healthy lifestyle, aiming to reinforce the importance of balanced nutrition. The learners participated in various games, designed not only for fun but also to encourage teamwork, coordination, and physical fitness.

To understand the concept of mindfulness, the learners practiced mindfulness techniques that helped them focus on breathing, self-awareness, and relaxation.

Through an informative session on balanced nutrition. The students engaged with a professional nutritionist, who shared valuable insights on the essential components of a balanced diet, how to make healthier choices in their daily meals, and how food impacts our body and mind. They asked questions, deepening their understanding of nutrition and how it relates to their health.

This field trip was an excellent way to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences. The combination of physical activity, mindfulness, and nutrition provided a holistic view of what it means to live a balanced, healthy life.

Class III's Exploration of Kanheri Caves

The Class III trip to Sanjay Gandhi National Park was an extraordinary experience, enriching students’ knowledge of geology, history, and culture. Situated within the park, the Kanheri Caves provided the perfect backdrop for a day filled with exploration and discovery.

The majestic caves, carved from basalt rock, introduced students to ancient Indian architecture and Buddhist heritage. Guided by our faculty, the children learned about the caves’ historical significance.

In addition to the historical aspects, the natural environment of the national park captivated the students. The interconnectedness between nature and human history became evident as the children explored how the caves were carved using tools available in ancient times.

Along with the culmination of their 1st unit, the students kicked off the next unit 'Sharing the Planet' by exploring the Biodiversity Hot Spot Museum nestled within the park. The museum served as a captivating introduction to the importance of conservation and inspired our students to think critically about their role in protecting our planet.

The trip helped to instill in our learners, a sense of curiosity and responsibility towards heritage and the environment. The children left with a deeper understanding of India's rich cultural past and its connection to the natural world.
