From Vada Pav to Values

Our curious learners marked Maharashtra's 65th birthday by reflecting on and writing about the things they love most about our vibrant and diverse state. From ‘vada pav’ to Sanjay Gandhi National Park, the Marathi language spoken to the different people we meet every day, our learners beautifully captured the essence of महाराष्ट्र.

Inspiring Young Changemakers: Earth Day Celebrations in the PYP  

At NMAJS, Earth Day is not just a date on the calendar—it is a powerful reminder of our responsibility to care for the planet we call home. This year, our Primary Years Programme (PYP) students commemorated Earth Day with a two-week-long initiative to raise awareness, foster responsibility, and drive positive action. 

PYP Art Exhibition 2024–2025

The PYP Annual Art Exhibition, held alongside the DAIS CAS Fete, on the school grounds, was a colourful celebration of creativity and imagination.

Our PYP artists from Classes 1 to 5 proudly displayed their beautiful work exploring the themes of line, pattern, and shape. The variety and creativity on display truly reflected the students' unique perspectives and growing artistic skills.

Class 1B’s Easter Journey

The usual chocolate eggs and bunnies were put on hold during our thoughtful and meaningful Class 1B Easter and Good Friday celebrations.

Our enthusiastic and reflective learners read the book My Easter and discovered the many ways Easter is celebrated globally. Inspired by the themes of sacrifice and giving, the students of Class 1 took time to think deeply about what they could give up to lead healthier, happier lives.

Burst of Colour and Happiness

Our young stars from different classes of the NMAJS Primary school came together to spread the festive spirit of HOLI, with storytelling, dance, and music—making it a day to remember!

The celebration kicked off with an engaging narration of the legendary tale of Prahlad and Holika. Our little storytellers brought history to life, reminding all about the triumph of good over evil. Their expressions and confidence were truly praiseworthy.

Embracing Tradition through Gudi Padwa Celebrations

The Primary School celebrated Gudi Padwa with great enthusiasm and cultural spirit, allowing students to learn about and appreciate the significance of this traditional festival. The event was thoughtfully planned by the Language team to engage students through various aspects of the festival, ensuring that they understood the festival’s meaning, rituals, and cultural relevance.

International Mother Language Day Celebration 2025

On February 21st, 2025, students from the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and Middle Years Programme (MYP) at NMAJS came together to celebrate International Mother Language Day. The event was a vibrant and interactive celebration of linguistic diversity, fostering an inclusive atmosphere for learners from diverse cultural and linguistic backgrounds.

Hindi Diwas Celebrations

On 25th September, the students of the PYP classes at NMAJS celebrated ‘Hindi Divas’ with great enthusiasm and creativity. The event aimed to honour the Hindi language, emphasizing its significance and cultural richness.

The celebration featured a variety of engaging activities. Students joyfully performed traditional Hindi songs, highlighting the beauty of Hindi and its role in connecting people. Children crafted catchy slogans that captured the essence of Hindi.

Culture Fest'24

To wrap up their unit on Diversity, PYP Class V students hosted a vibrant event 'Celebration of Cultures.' They proudly wore traditional attire, shared delicious cultural cuisines, and performed music, poetry, and dance that held deep significance to their heritage. Through this experience, our students will become more knowledgeable, tolerant, and open-minded, embracing the richness of the world around them. What a beautiful showcase of diversity in our community!

 

Celebrating Independence and Diversity

Our students stepped into the school premises with hearts full of pride, as the lilt of patriotic songs echoed through the corridors. It set the tone for a day of national honour. The PYP section of the school conducted a special sing-along session where a group of our talented singers led us in singing patriotic songs, kindling the spirit of unity and love for our country.
