History Close to Home
Classes 7A and 7B explored their unit “What’s in Your Neighbourhood?” through a bilingual Learning Centre activity on the Battle of Vasai (1739). Students used English resources to understand the historical event and then created posters with Marathi headings and key points. They researched the Maratha victory and its impact on Vasai Fort and the nearby Vasai–Virar villages, connecting local ruins, cannons, and churches to the area’s identity today. The activity helped students build research skills, work collaboratively, and develop a deeper connection to the history of their own neighbourhood.
