Sanaaya Joisher of Class VIII B raised Rs. 5.4 lakhs to give underprivileged women and girls living in rural Maharashtra & Karnataka reusable sanitary pads. She has impacted over 1080 girls and women till date. This campaign is run by her for the NGO ‘ Go Girl Foundation’ and is called Project Red. She will be visiting one of the villages to educate the girls and women on the importance of using these recyclable pads and how they must be used.

50 % of women and girls in rural areas and urban slums have poor menstrual hygiene practices. They end up using materials like paper, husk, dirty cloth, ash etc.
23 % girls drop out of schools when they start menstruating. Hence this is a big issue in our country. UNESCO also uses these reusable pads in Africa.
