Rutva Kasi of MYP Class 6 B and Aarit Gopalkrishnan of MYP Class 7B emerged as Champions at the World School Debating Championship (Junior Category), held on 7th February 2026.

The championship was hosted by Oberoi International School in collaboration with Debaters of India. It was an open tournament that witnessed participation from 32 teams (approximately 100 students) across India.

Conducted in the World Schools Debating Championship (WSDC) format, the competition spanned four gruelling rounds, including impromptu debates, testing students on critical thinking, collaboration, articulation, and spontaneity. Rutva and Aarit displayed exceptional skill and teamwork to secure the top position.

Adding to this remarkable achievement, Aarit Gopalkrishnan was also awarded Best Speaker of the Tournament and Best Speaker of the Finals.
