Class 1 Celebrates Earth Day with Caring Hearts
Our Class 1 learners beautifully embodied the IB Learner Profile attribute of ‘Caring’ as they came together to celebrate Earth Day with love and compassion for our blue planet.
The celebration began with a reading of Our Planet by Stacy McAnulty, which sparked thoughtful discussions about how each one of us can protect and care for the Earth. Inspired by the book, students wrote and illustrated their own pledges—simple yet meaningful ways they plan to be kinder to the planet.
From not plucking flowers and recycling plastic, to taking shorter showers, avoiding the destruction of animal homes, and choosing metal spoons over disposable ones. Their ideas were insightful, practical, and impactful. They proudly shared their creative strategies, highlighting the power of small actions in making a big difference.
The day ended with a heartfelt message: ‘Together, we can make our Earth- our home, clean and green again’.
