A Day of Learning, Empathy, and Inspiration for Class 5
Our Class 5 students recently had the opportunity to visit the Jai Vakeel Foundation in Mumbai – an organization doing incredible work to support children with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It was a heartwarming and eye-opening experience that left a lasting impact on our young learners.
The students were inspired by the story behind the foundation and its powerful mission: to empower children through education, therapy, and vocational training. As they toured the campus, they interacted with the inmates and witnessed vocational training programmes in action – everything from art and crafts to practical life skills. It gave them a real sense of how independence and social entrepreneurship can be nurtured through the right support and opportunities.
More than just a visit, this was a journey into understanding inclusivity and empathy. The students asked thoughtful questions, engaged in meaningful conversations, and came away with a deeper appreciation of the unique strengths and challenges of those with challenges. Most importantly, they realized how small acts of kindness and respect can go a long way in making the world a more inclusive place.
We’re proud of our students for embracing this experience with open hearts and curious minds – a true reflection of the values we strive to nurture at NMAJS.
