Exploring History, Uncovering Wonders
As part of their ongoing inquiry into exploration under the transdisciplinary theme Where We Are in Place and Time, Class 3 learners visited the Dr. Bhau Daji Lad Museum on Monday, 2 November 2026.
Curated by Ms. Alisha Sadikot, Public Historian and Museum, Art and Heritage Educator, the visit offered learners an opportunity to explore Mumbai’s history through a fascinating collection of artefacts, coins, maps and artworks. A guided walkthrough, along with close observation and interactions with experts, helped bring the city’s past to life.
Learners were curious to discover the stories behind the objects they saw, asking questions and making connections as they explored. The visit also opened up conversations about how we learn from history, why conservation matters and how we can help preserve our shared heritage.
The experience encouraged learners to look at the past with fresh eyes and sparked new questions to take back into their inquiry.
Back in school, learners reflected on their visit through “I noticed, I learnt, and one wonder I still have,” sharing their observations, new learnings and questions that they are keen to explore further.
