NMAJS Class 5 Students Lead the Way in the 2025 PYP Exhibition

The PYP Exhibition (PYPX) at NMAJS culminated on June 13, 2025, as a vibrant celebration of inquiry, agency, and action. Our Class 5 students showcased the culmination of their learning journeys through a compelling exploration of the transdisciplinary theme How We Express Ourselves. Rooted in student choice and voice, each group identified a local issue they felt deeply passionate about—ranging from urban waste management and mental health awareness to animal welfare and sustainable fashion.

Over several weeks, students engaged in a rigorous and meaningful process: formulating their own central ideas and lines of inquiry, conducting fieldwork, collaborating with mentors, interacting with experts, and designing impactful action. Their final presentations reflected a rich integration of creativity, critical thinking, and purposeful expression—truly exemplifying the essence of the IB Primary Years Programme.

The PYPX was far more than an academic milestone. It was a powerful testament to student agency and the belief that young learners are capable of understanding and addressing complex, real-world issues. Throughout this journey, students demonstrated the IB Learner Profile attributes and honed a wide range of Approaches to Learning (ATL) skills, including research, communication, collaboration, and self-management.

The event was attended by an enthusiastic audience of parents, staff, and invited guests, all of whom were moved by the maturity, insight, and conviction with which students shared their learning. A student-created journey video added depth and emotion to the experience, capturing the energy, reflection, and growth that defined this process.

The 2025 PYP Exhibition has not only marked a significant rite of passage for our Grade 5 learners but has also left our entire school community inspired. These young changemakers have reminded us that with curiosity, empathy, and action, even the youngest voices can contribute meaningfully to building a more compassionate, equitable, and sustainable world.
