Reading in Difficult Times
In moments of uncertainty, stories have the power to comfort, inspire, and connect us. Our PYP readers recently embarked on a meaningful literary journey across cultures and continents through powerful books like Listen to the Wind by Greg Mortensen, The Librarian’s Stories by Lucy Falcone, and My Library Is a Camel.
Guided by our librarian’s engaging and thoughtful read-aloud sessions, students explored themes of resilience, kindness, patience, and hope. They discovered how, even in the most challenging circumstances, stories can open hearts and minds.
A special display on our library glass captures this journey, reminding us all that when times are tough, books become bridges. They help us imagine a better world, one built on empathy, understanding, and courage.
