Voices of Experience – Seniors Share Their Journeys

In the spirit of collaboration across grade levels, and as part of our unit on Identities and Sources of Inspiration, our Class 3 learners had the special opportunity to engage with their senior peers and listen to their inspiring journeys.
From national achievements in robotics and triathlons, to powerful voices advocating for women empowerment, to creativity expressed through writing and music – each senior shared the people who inspired them, the choices they made, and the challenges they overcame along the way.

Our young learners reflected on these stories through the Visible Thinking Routine Connect–Extend–Challenge, making meaningful connections to their own lives, extending their perspectives, and thinking about how inspiration shapes identity. Hearing personal experiences directly from their seniors made the learning more authentic and impactful.

It was heartening to see the seniors demonstrate such care, patience, and generosity of spirit. Equally, it was a proud moment to witness them embrace the opportunity to inspire their younger schoolmates. This engagement not only left our Class 3 learners deeply inspired but also motivated them to reflect on their own journeys of growth, courage, and possibility.

Krishna Leela: Bringing Tradition to Life

Our PYP students had the privilege of witnessing a unique cultural performance, Krishna Leela – A Putul Nach Puppet Show, organized by Dr. Swati Piramal to foster awareness and appreciation of traditional art forms.

The show was presented by the Daricha Foundation from Kolkata, which works to revive and preserve West Bengal’s rich folk and tribal heritage. Puppeteers from rural Bengal, many of whom were travelling outside their villages for the first time, performed using traditional Putul Nach puppets. Their storytelling was accompanied by melodious Bengali folk music and Patua paintings that brought the tales of Krishna to life.

Adding an international dimension, giant lantern puppets inspired by traditional art forms from Korea, Japan, and China were used to depict the defeat of the demon Agasura. Modern technology and artificial intelligence were also integrated, making the performance a blend of heritage and innovation.

The magical retelling of Krishna Leela not only introduced our students to the richness of Indian epics but also offered them a glimpse into how traditional arts can adapt and thrive in today’s world. It was a truly meaningful experience for our young learners, leaving them inspired and enriched.

Celebrating Excellence: Annual Awards Ceremony 2025

On Monday, 16th June 2025, the NMAJS Auditorium was abuzz with pride and celebration as the school hosted its Annual Awards Ceremony—a prestigious event that recognized and honoured student excellence across a wide spectrum of achievements. The event was an invitation-only gathering, attended by proud parents, faculty members, and the award-winning students themselves.

The ceremony acknowledged outstanding accomplishments in academics, sports, and non-sporting academic-related activities, both within and beyond the school. Only students who had achieved recognition at the national or international level were eligible, making each award a true testament to dedication, talent, and perseverance.

From our young learners in Class 1 to our seniors in Grade 12, students were celebrated for their exceptional contributions. A multitude of certificates and commendations were presented, each marking a milestone in a student’s personal and academic journey.

We were especially honoured to have Ms. Isha Ambani Piramal grace the occasion. Her presence added warmth and encouragement to the event, and her address to the audience was both inspiring and thought-provoking. She spoke about the importance of recognising effort, nurturing passion, and staying committed to excellence—a message that resonated deeply with students, parents, and educators alike.

It was a heartwarming sight to witness the joy and pride on the faces of parents, as their children stepped forward to be acknowledged. Events like these serve not only to honour achievement but also to inspire others—reminding every student that with commitment and courage, excellence is always within reach.

Here’s to celebrating the brilliance of our students—and to many more moments of inspiration and achievement!
